What Youth4work Prep covers
Prep is the exam-practice part of Youth4work. Across its 25 public exam categories there are about 615 exams and about 840,000 approved questions. Members have answered about 117 million practice questions on Prep since it started.

Government exams are the biggest part by far. Four categories are aimed at them:
- Government Jobs: 142 exams, 804 mock tests, 488 section practice tests. It covers SSC (CGL, CHSL, MTS, CPO, JE, GD, Stenographer), banking (IBPS PO, Clerk, RRB and SO; SBI PO and Clerk; RBI Grade B; NABARD), insurance (LIC AAO, NIACL), teaching (CTET, KVS, DSSSB, several state TETs), UPSC papers, state police and PSU recruitment such as ISRO, SAIL and BHEL.
- Defence: 13 exams and 113 mock tests, including NDA, AFCAT and the Air Force X Group and Y Group exams.
- Indian Railways: 9 exams and 117 mock tests, including the RRB NTPC first stage.
- State Public Service Commission: 20 exams and 71 mock tests.
Together these four categories hold about 377,000 approved questions and 1,105 mock tests.
How Prep works, step by step
Let’s use SSC CGL Tier 1 as the example. Every exam page follows the same layout.

- Open your exam. Browse a category such as Government Jobs, or use the search box. The exam page lists its sections with question counts, the full mock tests, an FAQ and a link to the exam’s forum. Some exams also have an about page with the exam pattern and syllabus.
- Practise section by section. For SSC CGL Tier 1 the sections are English Comprehension, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Each section splits into topics, and each topic is a short practice test. Start with your weakest section, not your favourite one.
- Take full mock tests. SSC CGL Tier 1 has 35 full mock tests. Each one has its own instructions page with the number of questions, the duration and the rules. Sit it in one go, with a timer and no breaks, as you would in the exam hall.
- Read your report. After a test you see your score, your rank and a report at My Report. Look for the topics where you were slow or wrong, then go back to step 2 for those topics only.
- Use the exam forum. Each exam has a forum where candidates ask and answer questions about the pattern, eligibility, cut-offs, books and preparation. The SSC CGL Tier 1 forum has 116 questions, and the Government Jobs category has 3,297 in all. All discussions shows recent questions from every exam.
Which government exams people practise most
Over the last two years (October 2024 to October 2026), these government exams had the most practice questions answered on Prep:

SSC Stenographer leads, followed by the Indian Air Force X Group exam, the Odisha teacher eligibility test (OSSTET), NDA and IBPS Clerk Prelims. In the last 12 months alone, 923 members answered 28,598 Government Jobs practice questions.
If you want the deepest question banks, the largest in Government Jobs are IBPS PO Prelims, IBPS Clerk Prelims, SSC CHSL, SSC CGL Tier 1 and IBPS PO Mains.
A simple 8-week plan using Prep
This is a starting template. Stretch or shrink it to the time you have before your exam date.
- Week 1: read the official notification for your exam and note the sections, marks and negative marking. Take one full mock test cold, just to find your starting point.
- Weeks 2 to 5: topic-wise practice tests, weakest section first. Aim for a few topics every day rather than one long session a week.
- Weeks 6 and 7: two or three full mock tests a week, each followed by an hour on the report. Re-practise only the topics the report flags.
- Week 8: one mock every other day at the same time of day as your real exam. Keep the last day light.
Two habits matter more than any plan. First, always check the pattern in the official notification: the forum and the practice tests help, but the notification is the final word. Second, track your mock scores in a notebook so you can see whether you are actually improving.
