Haryana, a state holding population of approx. 27.76 million (2016) ranks 14th in GDP of the Indian economy. Agriculture, manufacturing and retail industries are the backbone of the state’s economic growth. The state’s government has been continually initiating schemes to enhance the employability and productivity to aid service sectors make a significant contribution to the economy.
Digital-based economy coming into limelight is playing a major role in creating a skilled workforce right from the core. The introduction of online platforms like Youth4work aims to instill quality and skilled workforce in the state, to bridge the skill deficit in the economy. Over 45000 youth from 25+ cities/towns in Haryana have registered on the platform to identify, introspect and self-assess their talents and skills. The Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM) aimed at increasing employability by providing skill training and professional knowledge hence, online platforms like Youth4work comprising of practice tests, ranking feature, discussion forum help today’s cutthroat generation to improve and showcase their talents.
Youth in cities of Haryana are talented in Communication Skills, Marketing, Computer Knowledge, Science & Technology. Companies on Youth4work are also getting associated with the talented youth in Haryana. The technology based platform raises employment opportunities for youth by guiding them to introspect and grow in their talents. Also, based on the platform insights, the average annual salary offered to Fresher/Entry level people (0–3 years) in the state is nearly Rs 2.1 Lakh and for Mid-Level (4–7 years) is nearly Rs 3.3 Lakh.
